Somatic Psychotherapy

Try something different.

You’ve worked with a talk therapist before, but you want more.

You can’t quite get it all out in words. Maybe you have early, pre-verbal trauma. Or you are working on archetypal metaphors that can’t fully be expressed without imagery. You need to move your body while you are processing.

You need to EXPRESS.

I use a blend of Somatic-Based and Art Therapy to work with your full being during your therapy sessions. Using art, movement and breathing in session allow us to access different parts of our brains and our selves in order to work on a deeper level.

We get to go places that we can’t always access in talk therapy. We work with metaphors, catharsis, pre-verbal trauma, breathwork, movement and art materials for soothing the nervous system. I chose this approach because I see results with my clients. They actually heal, instead of just spinning their wheels.

I’d love to see if I can meet your needs before we begin this work together, so please schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation below to see if we’re a good fit. I will provide you with a scheduling link if we’re both a “yes!”

Caitlin also provides clinical supervision to other art therapists.

Caitlin is a Board-Certified Art Therapist. Caitlin has been providing supervision since 2016. She has extensive experience working with youth populations and trauma, including those experiencing homelessness, involved in the justice system, and identifying as LGBTQ. Her supervision style encourages her supervisees to consider their clients within broader socio-economic and spiritual contexts. Caitlin also works as a spiritual healer and this framework informs her work as an art therapist, while staying grounded in a realistic perspective on the systems that impact clients and the neurological impacts of trauma. Caitlin has experience with providing play-based therapy and wilderness therapy, as well as coaching parents and supporting systems in crisis. Her unique blend of experience and perspectives make her an engaging and supportive supervisor for those with a transpersonal lens.
